Attila Halmy, a sandan, started training Hayashi Ha Shito Ryu during his college years and was in the 1993 Maccabiah Games with the Hungarian team. He switched to Shotokan Karate in 2013 when he started training under Sensei Dennis Livotto in Houston, TX – within SKIF, USF –  and tested for advanced ranks with Kancho Nobuaki Kanazawa sensei. He joined the Cleveland Shotokan Karate Club upon moving to Cleveland in 2021.  He competed as a member of the MidAmerica Region’s kumite team at the ISKF national tournament in 2022.  He is enrolled in ISKF Instructor training and encourages students to be better every day.
